Is Pastor Adeboye a false prophet?

I just read a Facebook post from one of my friends, a Kenyan-born, US-based evangelist. It’s a video clip of a church service where Pastor Enoch Adeboye was shown combing his hair to demonstrate what God was going to do for the congregation. The lady was so offended that after posting the video, she immediately followed up with a teaching on false prophets. I would have ignored the post when I saw it if not for the people involved. One, I have known this woman of God for some time. In fact, he has a zeal to serve God and has read many of my books. She will always want to please the LORD. So Pastor Adeboye, (Daddy GO) is my pastor. Yes, I am not a member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, but I believe in him, in his ministry, and in God’s grace upon him. As a child of God and a Christian in prayer, when you see a genuine minister / ministry, you will know it. I’ll get to that later. I trust this man so much that my children always run to call me every time he comes to preach on television. “Dad come, come, your pastor is preaching on TV,” they always yelled. But are those the only reasons for such confidence? Is my faith in him based on feelings? Not!

Pastor Adeboye’s teachings are always very simple, balanced, mature and based on the Bible. The man is simple, frank and humble. Although he is the pastor of one of the largest and richest congregations, he does not believe in opulence, boastfulness, and materialism. His success has not yet blinded him to the fleetingness of this world’s fame, position, and possessions and the reality of eternity. This man who successfully brought together conservative and liberal Christians to worship together without segregation has been able to balance his theology: succeed here, but also prepare for the coming of our Lord Jesus! And so it should be. You just see the air of clarity of purpose, genuine focus, and uncommon humility about him. I love that. Unlike most of our so-called successful ministers who have since been carried away by the success and possessions of this world. They have become boastful, proud, arrogant, worldly, vain, intolerant, materialistic, and empty. Don’t you see them everywhere? These were once humble (or pretended to be), but were inflated when the great congregation, money, and authority arrived. Yes, they still preach, entertain, and have large congregations, but like the great Samson, the spirit and purpose of God have abandoned them. Now they are businessmen who work for themselves and their families. Now they compete in the show of wealth and predictions to remain relevant. If Daddy GO were vain, he would have gloated to be the head of one of the most prosperous ministries in the world. But he has remained focused, humble, straightforward, and uncontroversial. These are the qualities of a true man of God.

So, I also admire the presence and grace of God in his life: the word of knowledge, the word of wisdom, the prophetic anointing on him. And again, he doesn’t gloat over this like many of us. He uses them with extreme humility, maturity and caution. It doesn’t come to mind at all. Fully understand that it is only by the grace of God. He is not the best of men; it’s just an unmerited favor from above. Yes, he is very mature in the use of these gifts, always avoiding controversies and manipulations. Listen to him, he will always thank God when he receives those prophecies and also after pronouncing them. You have noticed? And this can only come from a man who has realized that God is his only source, that he can do nothing without Him. I have never heard him boast of such prophetic manifestations. Never! Even when he receives a word from the spirit, he delivers it with great maturity. I remember he was once asked about one of those influential false prophets in Lagos, he simply said that he would not worship in the church of man. OMG! What answer. He said it all without raising dust. Daddy GO is a very mature, simple, peaceful and intelligent man. I also love their stories and their simple way of transmitting messages. It has real testimonials, stories and illustrations for each message. In fact, he is a father. Although he is well educated, he does not try to impress anyone with great grammar, theories, human wisdom, false testimonies, or bragging. Is this the person our dear evangelist is trying to label a false minister? Please no! Adeboye is not. I believe that our generation should be grateful to God for giving us this great gift and to so many others like him who have not bowed down to Baal. There are thousands of them around. Yes, there will always be remains.

Next, I want to give a little advice on how to meet a false minister or false prophet. A false prophet is one who often speaks when the Lord has not spoken. He is the one who will speak or act for selfish reasons: manipulate others or receive favor from men or impress people. A false minister is the person who always misinterprets or manipulates the scriptures to suit his goals and desires. A false minister is one who thinks about himself or what he will gain before pleasing God and helping others. A false minister is one who preaches very well, but aims to extort money from people or get rich. A false prophet looks out and takes every opportunity to enhance his fame and fortune at the expense of the gospel and the people of God. They love to announce miracles (or their magic), unlike Jesus. These are the people who have gone to acquire power, the false anointing to do signs, wonders and the prophetic to deceive and exploit people. And unfortunately, even those who were once genuine are now joining them because of the lust for money, fame, and power. But I tell you that it is better for me to die poor than to seek or take something from Satan. Yes, the devil is false and the father of all liars, false and false. How can I be freed from sin and Satan, and after seeing the light of God return to seek or take from the devil himself? God forbid! The word of God said that Satan, his demons, all the false prophets and everything that they managed to deceive, will have their place in the Lake of Fire. And finally, the Spirit of God will always expose the false, sometimes through their own actions or through God’s visions and dreams to others. Even when it is hidden from men, God will not fail to expose it to his people. So far, all I have seen from Pastor EA Adeboye in the spiritual realm is holiness, cleanliness, and apostolic work.
