The cautious entrepreneur

Entrepreneur, someone who starts a business and takes risk for profit. It’s no wonder some of us are reluctant to become “Risk” entrepreneurs. It stops most of us in our tracks.

Have you ever thought that you could be spinning around in your life and not fulfilling your dreams? It is itchy but can’t seem to scratch it.

You know you want something more in life, but you are not sure what that something could be.

I had those thoughts too and this blog post is about how we make life-changing decisions and why we are sometimes forced to drop our security blanket so that we can leave something else in our lives, even if it seems like we are taking a risk. . We may even have to start from scratch in a terrifying way, as it could be even worse, it could be out of our control.

So if you think you might not be manifesting the life you want due to fear related to taking a risk, read on:

I confess that when I had my day job I really wanted to do something different and had thought about it for a long time.

I wanted to be an entrepreneur and do my own thing … you know how to start a business.

Anyway, this was one of my fantasies, but I had a risk and I knew it too well. I had worked (like a dog) for many years for financial security, but yes, I admit I was exhausted and physically drained. He just wasn’t quite ready to “quit” mainly for those financial reasons, too much risk involved in letting go.

I finally made the decision to retire and had a timeline in place, I only had a few more months before I revealed this to my co-workers and my boss. It wasn’t official yet, but I had that mentality … I’m going to retire soon and maybe follow my dream of being an entrepreneur maybe. Retiring would give me the mattress I needed for this to happen or so I thought …

I was working towards the light at the end of the tunnel and saw it just beyond my reach.

Then one day my boss wanted to meet me. It turns out that it was not actually a reunion, but a “lynching”, it was unexpected and I sat in disbelief. There was nothing I could do. The exact words he used “We’re going to have to let you go”, well done! He fired me.

I remember him saying, now if you think you might cry on the way home, pull over to the side of the road and don’t drive while your little lady annoys! Say ah! I wanted to laugh and had to control the urge. You know you’re ready to quit your job if you start laughing when they tell you you’re fired! My heart said yes! What he really did was open the cage to let me fly. I will send a thank you note soon.

I confess that I cried, but I only cried a little bit and it was days later that I had time to think about the total injustice of all this. I wanted to be the one to break up! I wanted to be in control and I wanted to be the one to say “goodbye.”

I was the oldest person in our department and one of the highest paid, so of course it makes perfect sense that they let me go months before my retirement. Unfortunately, this scenario seems all too familiar in American businesses today and it might have happened to some of you. Poor us. Never!

No, for me it was the beginning of a completely new and exciting chapter, I was finally able to be an entrepreneur.

Luckily, I had already started down the entrepreneurial path and didn’t even know it. I joined a multilevel marketing company in the months leading up to launch, my friend begged me to join her downline. The company quickly disappeared, but I had an idea of what could be, what was possible. I soon joined another.

I had kicked up the dust and embarked on my new career as you had guessed … Entrepreneur! I really like the sound.

Luckily for you, you don’t have to go through what I went through to get what you want. The beauty of a multi-level marketing business is the flexibility to work 10 hours a week while generating residual income by doing it this way, you never have to take away your security. You can have your cake and eat it too.

So if you find yourself in a similar circumstance, remember that if it makes you nervous, it’s probably a good idea. Risk can be a great motivator, so be brave, be a leader, keep going … never look back and don’t regret making the most of your circumstances.

If you are in a similar situation or just want to start something new by joining a dynamic multi-level marketing company and becoming an entrepreneur, just go for it.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you. I am here to be your coach, mentor or friend. I will guide you in the right direction.

My door is always open.
