4 bald celebrities who look awfully good

Many patients with alopecia, commonly known as hair loss, often wish they could overcome their condition and live a normal life with a full head of hair. Women especially are very upset when they discover that they have been diagnosed with this condition. There are many treatments available on the market (some are expensive, while others can be cheap), but most of them only cause more depression in the patient, especially when they are not effective.

Perhaps it would be comforting to know that even celebrities can suffer from hair loss. There are some celebrities who simply choose to go bald and flaunt it instead of worrying and undergoing numerous treatments.

1. Baldness and arbitration

Pierluigi Collina is an Italian soccer referee. Today, he still works as an unpaid consultant for the AIA or Italian Association of Soccer Referees. He is a highly respected referee around the world and people have fondly called him Kojak because of his baldness. It was in the 1980s that Collina contracted a severe form of alopecia that resulted in loss of facial and scalp hair.

2. Bald swimmer

Duncan Goodhew is a famous athlete and is now also a motivational speaker. Goodhew is a legend in the sport of swimming who won a gold and bronze medal at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow. He is bald not because he chose it to be good at his profession, but because he contracted alopecia universalis (or total hair loss). Due to this condition, you have an advantage (due to hydrodynamics) when swimming.

3. Bald and on TV!

Gail Porter is a famous UK TV presenter. She married Dan Hipgrave, a Toploader guitarist in 2001 and their union broke up in the summer of 2004. The separation caused Porter to become depressed and turn to drugs. Her condition soon worsened as stress, drug use, and postpartum depression worked together to trigger alopecia areata.

She soon became an advocate for educating people about this condition. Even with her baldness, she refused to wear wigs. However, her hair loss is believed to be not permanent and Porter confirmed that her hair could grow back.

4. Actors who succumb to hair loss

Patrick Stewart, best known for his role on Star Trek, is a multi-award-winning actor (both in film and on stage). Stewart has never been ashamed of his baldness, in fact, he was even listed for the Sexiest Man on Television in the 1992 TV Guide.

Bruce Willis, who wouldn’t be able to recognize this hot and sexy action star? He starred in many unforgettable movies such as Armageddon, Pulp Fiction, Sin City, The Sixth Sense, and the Die Hard series. His hair regressed noticeably in the late 90s. Eventually he shaved off the rest and started a trend among white men, as did Michael Jordan among African Americans.

Famous or not, people can be affected by hair loss, but this does not deter some from living their lives to the fullest. If you can, make the most of baldness by being fresh and shaving everything.
