As a chronic back pain sufferer, I have tried many things to remedy my back pain. I have some spinal problems that basically make my back hurt. Years ago, I just got used to waking up in the morning and feeling a little sore from the night before. Obviously, a bed that’s comfortable for you helps, but I also discovered something that pretty much eliminated my back pain, and that’s a Bowflex.

Being a fitness guy I have always tried various machines etc. to stay in shape. However, lifting weights is not always possible or a good thing with back problems. So you’d think that would preclude the use of a Bowflex. What I have found, however, is that the range of motion offered in the Bowflex exercises is far superior to most other machines or exercises you can do on your own. It works a variety of muscles which is particularly useful for those of us with back problems.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I don’t lift a ton of ‘weight’ with my Bowflex, I basically use it for stretching purposes with more resistance than I would get from stretching alone. There are a wide variety of exercises you can use with one of these machines, and they are all good for your back. In addition, the machine is easy to use, easy to adjust and does not take up much space. The older model that I first bought folded up with one simple step and fit in a closet or nook. Now I have a newer machine, but the principle is the same.

I use my Bowflex almost daily. If I go home on vacation or something for a few days, my back feels it. Over the years I have found these machines to hold up very well and are reliable, but occasionally when I wear out a part I definitely miss the machine in the days it takes for the part to arrive. By the way, Bowflex has a very competent support center that will take care of you if you ever have a problem that needs solving.

I’m not trying to advertise Bowflex. However, if you have back pain like I do, you probably don’t mind doing something about it. The Bowflex is one of the best solutions I’ve come across and I’ve been using it for over 15 years.
