Internet Marketing For The Average Joe – How To Market Your Products Online

internet marketing for the average Joe or Jane. Before entering the world of instant messaging, we must first know what it is.

It is a way to market your services and/or products through the Internet. It doesn’t take a genius to figure that out.

It’s actually more difficult today to make a profit or earn serious money because of the millions of people online who have been scammed or scammed.

In the early days of the Internet, it was actually easy to market your stuff online, you could set up a blog, a website, and promote ClickBank products or your own product or service. Many people started a campaign on Google AdWords or other PPC networks. Google slap was non-existent and they would allow affiliate links.

Lots of people made good money. But many marketers have been slapped so hard that they no longer want to run campaigns. So what is the average Joe doing to get his internet marketing off the ground again?

The average Joe can do internet marketing and be successful if he follows a few simple rules. Here are mine.

  1. Use social networking sites to get backlinks and others to follow you. Or at least make them interested in your products. Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, HubPages, and Squidoo come to mind. Join them, ask questions, post comments, and do your best to deliver good, high-impact content.
  2. Use good old fashioned SEO tactics to get better search engine results. Most of the top “internet marketers” still use SEO to further improve their “brand awareness”. SEO is organic traffic and can be learned by just about any Joe or Jane. I’m a notoriously slow learner… so if I can do it, so can you.
  3. Market products that really work for you and others. If they worked for you, it stands to reason that others will have the same results.
  4. The world of internet marketing is constantly changing. If you don’t change with it, your business or marketing interests will die.
  5. The average Joe Marketer is always looking for free or cheap promotions and/or advertising. This is dangerous…sometimes you have to look for legitimate people who can help you become a serious internet marketer.
  6. Article marketing is still a very viable way to market. Thousands of people make a good living just by writing articles and submitting them to article directories.
  7. Offline businesses can earn extra money using the Internet. There are millions of resources out there to help the average offline person succeed with their dreams and aspirations.
  8. Automation programs come and go. Once Google finds them, they feverishly search for ways to keep them at bay. Most work at first, but eventually they are left floating in cyberspace like garbage waiting to be picked up by garbage trucks.
  9. Many Internet marketing programs and/or opportunities are scams. It is best to research each and every one of these programs before proceeding with your internet marketing venture.
