Sentencing of Joseph Finder

Can a choice change your life? Bet! Ask Juliana Brody. She judge of the High Court, and star of Judgment. The suspenseful new legal thriller from the master of entertainment fiction: Joseph Finder.

One choice. A concept lapse. Only one changes your life. Ask Juliana Brody. She is a Superior Court judge, wife, mother of two, and the star of Joseph Finder’s latest independent suspenseful legal thriller.

Away from home, attending yet another boring conference, Juliana will discover that she forgot to pack her good judgment. Sitting at the bar, having two drinks, talking to a hot stranger. You know where this is going, don’t you? Yes! Direct to your place.

His lust ran out and the benefits of alcohol evaporated long ago, the two-part company. Juliana assumes that she can return home, rededicate herself to her family and never think about the stranger again. Amidst all the hustle and bustle of an up-and-coming world of judges, a case on her docket was gaining national attention. The CEO of Breezi (the fictional equivalent of Uber) was being sued for sex discrimination and the spotlight was on Juliana. Calling into the courtroom to order, the judge notices a familiar face at the defense table. Could be? Yes, he could and he did: sitting at the defense table was the attractive stranger from the bar. Now things get really interesting.

It was all a setup. Her hot alliance had been recorded on video. Breezi intended to win this case and they wanted the judge to make sure they did. As long as Juliana continued to play, the tape would remain confidential and no one would notice. However, if she refused, her career, her family, her life as she knew it, would be gone. She had no choice, right? She had to rule in her favor and keep her family safe. But could she really do that? Could she?

What follows is a game of cat and mouse that will have you ferociously flipping pages to find out what happens next. Joseph Finder’s stories have one ounce of realism, for every three ounces of fiction. The plot of Judgment could easily be the top story on tonight’s six o’clock news. Finder is capable of blurring the line between fact and fiction. He weaves a beautiful web that catches you. Then silken thread, silken thread, he deconstructs the web revealing the bad guys and their true motivations. It’s a hypnotic, fun and action-packed ride that can’t be beat.

Ever since I read Paranoia, I’ve been hooked. (That was a long time ago, well, it’s been a few years.) Joseph Finder does his homework for him. His books are always relevant in some way. His writing is smooth and flowing. No hiccups or stops and starts. Short, crisp chapters add to the tension, giving the dialogue a sense of urgency. The characters are well thought out, three dimensional and genuine. You like them or you hate them, the good, the bad and the ugly too, they all feel real. While there are times when reality needs to be suspended in order to fully enjoy the ride, that’s what good fiction is supposed to do: take us away from our reality and entertain us for a couple of hours. Joseph Finder does it better than most. He is a master of entertainment. I always look forward to his books. Although I have to wait a year, sometimes more, writing him is worth it.

happy reading,
