WhatsApp Status, one of the best features that allows users to upload videos and images for their contacts to see, instead of a simple text-based status communication, is live for everyone to enjoy now. This feature is active on Android, iOS and Windows smartphones around the world. The new WhatsApp Status, which is completely inspired by Snapchat Stories, was announced a few days ago by the company.
WhatsApp has now done the update. You won’t need to spend a lot in the Google Store to be able to use this feature, because it is now active in the app itself. In the past, status used to be a boring text-based thing that no one cared to learn or value, although people all over the world have been known to update status.
With the new feature, WhatsApp allows you to control who can easily see your status update as well. In the WhatsApp tab, there is a personal privacy option directly at the top. You have three alternatives: “my contacts”, “contacts” and “your new status”. On Android, the Personal Status privacy option is definitely within the settings. Tap on the three dots on the WhatsApp home page and you can see a Status Privacy option at the top. Again, you can select from all three options.
You can also reply to someone’s update. There’s a reply key, so you can tap on any type of photo, video, or GIF. Now when you tap reply, your message will be sent as a WhatsApp thumbnail of the status update. Whether that message will also be deleted after 24 hours is yet to be determined.
Under Personal Status, you’ll see little circular heads of your friends with a blue circle around them. This green circle shows that they will also have a “status” that you can examine. You will keep tapping on these locations to get updates to get in touch with each other.
How to remove status
Although status updates disappear after a day, you can delete yours sooner if you want.
On the status display screen, tap the three dots next to the My Update button, tap then the update you need to delete, and tap the delete icon.
How to mute status
You can also easily mute a status to prevent it from appearing near the top of the list on your own status screen.
Just tap and hold on the update you want to stop and choose Mute once the option appears.
To be able to activate any status that you have muted, go to the Status screen, then scroll down to the Silenced States field and touch and hold the update you prefer to deactivate.
