  • HFCS (high fructose corn syrup)
  • Soybean oil (hydrogenated or simple refined)
  • Soy protein
  • Refined wheat flour
  • Malt dextrin, corn and wheat starch and soy lecithin

But this high caloric intake (67%) is one of the main reasons for the crisis we have in health, overweight and allergies. The total caloric intake of these 3 foods should be approximately 1 to 4%.

If you ever read the label of the products you buy, you will see that there are very few items that do not contain high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). Soda and sugary drinks, salad dressings, ketchup, breads and hundreds of other products contain belly fattening HFCS.

Most of the processed foods on the shelf contain soybean or corn oil. Think of all the chips, candy, cakes, dips, etc. that we consume with these products and their derivatives. Then there are the calories in processed wheat-containing breads, cereals, pastas, muffins that are full of sugar and very few nutrients.

Additionally, soybeans and corn are also used as cheap feed for farm animals, fish, and poultry. This further increases the amount of those products that we eat that end up in our bodies.

Why is it unhealthy to consume 67% of our calories from corn, soybeans, and wheat? The healthy omega-6 to omega-3 ratio should be 1: 1 – 2: 1. Consuming 67% of your calories from these creates a serious imbalance of a 30: 1 ratio. Wow!

This creates health problems with gluten intolerance. This also causes weight gain, blood sugar changes, and diabetes. The xenoestrogens, pesticide contaminants, and herbicide residues in these crops also cause an increase in stubborn belly fat and a potential for cancer.

How to take control of your food to lose weight

  • Don’t buy processed foods. It all starts when you go shopping. Pure unprocessed natural foods, vegetables, fruits, beans, nuts, and seeds are best.
  • Buy meats and eggs that come from grass-fed and free-roaming animals.
  • Organic is the best. If you can’t afford organic food, buy regular food and soak it in water and vinegar for 10-15 minutes.
  • Get your carbohydrates from fruits and vegetables instead of grains.
  • Make your own salad dressings. Most salad dressings contain sugar and high fructose corn syrup.
