Farmer Wants a Wife 2010 Summary

Farmer Wants a Wife is a popular reality television series that began in 2001 in the United Kingdom, where its first edition aired. Right now, there are more than 10 localized versions of this program in different countries around the world. It has become one of the top rated entertainment shows in many countries like Belgium, Norway, and the Netherlands. It has become so popular that even Australia caught the fever and started their own localized version of said reality show.

2010 Series 5 Episode 1

Farmer Wants a Wife Australia premiered in Australia on the Nine Network in the year 2007 and to date the show has already had a total of 5 seasons with the sixth coming this year. The first season was produced in six episodes, with the first one airing on October 24, 2007. Last year’s season began airing on July 18, 2010 and ended on September 15 of the same year.

The show basically revolves around a series of farmers looking for the woman of their lives and a series of women who are from the city. The Australian edition of Farmer Wants a Wife is curated by Natalie Gruzlewski.

Farmer Wants a Wife 2010 featured six farmers in its fifth season: Becky Cassanova from South Australia, 34; Devon Mills of Hopetoun, Victoria, 25; Jamie Morgan of Monkey Mia, Western Australia, 40; Charlie Norton of Walcha, New South Wales, aged 25; Nathan McClymont of Wiluna, Western Australia; and last but not least, 31-year-old Shaun Fewson from Nyabing, Western Australia.

The show ended with a bang when farmer Nathan McClymont from Wiluna, WA popped the question to Amanda Ecker and admitted he’s “seriously in love.” For him, Ecker is like a dream come true. In her own words, farmer Nathan Ecker described her as a “beautiful, fun, very laid back and caring” girl.

The show has proven successful here in Australia as since its first run it has already produced a baby, three marriages and two engagements, the latter being the second engagement so far in Australian Farmer Wants a Wife history.

According to the show’s producers, casting for the show’s sixth season has already started in September of last year, even before the fifth season ends. The show began filming the sixth Farmer Wants a Wife in November last year and is expected to air soon on Channel Nine.
