Fortnite is the name of a new hit game that was released in September 2017. When it was first released, there was very little publicity about it and it did not receive much attention upon its initial release. Due to that simple fact, the company that created it decided to offer a part of the game for free and since the game has become probably the most popular game in the world now. There are many aspects that make the game unique.

First of all, it’s a third person shooter but very lively in its positioning, so it’s not very serious in a way. In addition to being a shooter, you can harvest materials like wood, brick, and metal and create different building structures like ramps, walls, floors, and really anything imaginable. The object of the game is to be the last player or team standing. The game starts with one hundred players launching from a school bus held in the air by a hot air balloon onto a giant island with different towns and locations marked on the map. Each person gets off the bus, and once they land, they loot weapons and shields before someone else finds the loot first. There are many different types of weapons like shotguns, rifles, rocket launchers and many other different weapons to find. Players open golden chests that give you multiple items that can be used in the game, such as potions and weapons, as mentioned above. Once a player has the loot he wants, he must move into the storm circle as the outer storm slowly approaches and forces the players to join. The storm will slowly decrease his health if he gets caught in it until his health is finally depleted. Once your health is depleted, there is no respawning in the same game as you have to start over from the beginning.

The ultimate goal is to be the last one standing and achieve a “Victory Royale”. It is a difficult feat as there are many highly-skilled players who regularly play and compete viciously. The key that most of these highly-skilled players have found is being able to build more efficiently and quickly in the heat of a firefight. These builders are usually the most skilled players and tend to earn the most in the games they play. Inexperienced players who are still learning the general flow of the game usually don’t find their first win until they play a lot of games. As time passed, the game developers added special limited-time game modes to the mix to keep the game interesting and entertain its die-hard players and not get bored after so long. The mode that has become a favorite for many is the high explosive mode which removes all normal weapons and leaves players roaming the map finding grenade launchers and rocket launchers and some other special weapons to win the game. These additional modes provide a change in ability and allow newer players to get more used to items that are less frequent in normal mode and allows them to experiment more freely so they are not caught off guard in normal mode.

Overall, the game is fun for all ages and provides a very good challenge for the competitive person in all of us. Fortnite is a fad for now, but expect it to stick around for a while longer as more and more players continue to join the ranks as the day goes on.
