Improving your relationship with God is very important because you show God that you want more from him. A relationship with God is very different from all other relationships you can have; When you talk to God, you tell him everything that is happening in your life, you tell him things that you will not say to your best friend, your family members or anyone else. Having a relationship with God is the most amazing thing anyone could have. God listens when you call, responds when you pray, knows your needs even before you tell him. He knows everything.
When you want to improve your relationship with God, it means that you are willing to give up everything that does not please God, and that is probably one of the most difficult things that most people have problems with. Another thing you should do is get more involved with the Bible, that means you have to read and study it to improve your relationship with God and also to know him better. When you read the Bible, you discover things that you did not know before, and believe me, you will be surprised how many things you will find that can improve your relationship with God. For example, I’m going to give you two verses from the Bible that you can study to help you with your relationship with God. Jeremiah 33: 3 says the following: “Call me and I will answer you and tell you great and inscrutable things that you do not know.” This verse speaks for itself, when you talk to God or when you call him, he will answer you because that is what his word says.
Another verse I want to share with you is James 4: 8, “Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Wash your hands, sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” When you read this verse, it clearly says draw close to God and he will draw close to you, and that is exactly what you need to do, you have to come to him for him to come to you, you have to open the door of your heart and let God in, that’s the only way to get closer to God. Prayer is also another important tool when you want to improve your relationship with God. You have to spend time with God and ask him to reveal his heart and will, tell him how you feel, tell him that you want more from him and help you in every situation you find yourself in. Remember that God is the only one you can truly trust, he is your best friend and he will never let you down.
