Lund Genesis Tri-Fold Collapsible Tonneau Cover Review

The first thing I have to say about the Lund Genesis Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover is that this truck bed has an incredible number of recommendations for other interested buyers. People seem to love its tri-fold cover. It’s kind of hard to write about the good and bad points when most of what I read are good points. Let me give you a description and some of its features and then I will go into its good and bad points.

The tri-fold tonneau cover ships pre-assembled and only needs to be installed on your truck. This truck bed cover is constructed of a double-sided, tear-resistant fabric that should give you many years of use. The hardware on this truck cap is made from aluminum and is powder coated. It has straps that hold the tarp securely when it is in the open position. The Tri-Fold tonneau cover comes with a lifetime warranty. Lund boasts that he can install this cover in less than three minutes. In my opinion, it would take a little longer if he cared about his purchase. But I agree that it installs very quickly.

The Lund Tri-Fold tonneau cover is very popular and is highly recommended by previous buyers. Previous buyers say they’ve noticed an increase in gas mileage and admire how quickly the cover installs. They also appreciate how the truck bed cover looks on their pickup trucks. Many are very happy with the folding feature and how quick and easy it is to access their truck bed compared to the snap-on covers they previously had. Previous buyers also mentioned how dry their cargo stayed even after heavy rain. Of course, this pretty much applies to all truck lids, but if you’re looking for the benefits of having a tonneau cover…it’s great for protecting your cargo from the wind. It also keeps your cargo out of the eyes of people who take things that don’t belong to them. Many people say that they love doing business with the people I am personally involved with and would certainly buy from them again. It’s always nice when I hear that.

Now, like any product, people find some negative things about it. Some people are concerned about the plastic parts of the clamps that they would prefer if they were metal. Some have said they wish the tri-fold tonneau cover had the same contour as their truck bed. It seems that on some trucks the corners are rounded and the tri-fold corners are not quite as round, causing the corner of the lid to stick out a bit more than the truck bed. Another suggestion some people had was that Lund provide more foam tape, especially if you have a box liner that goes over your truck bed rails, it seems some vehicles have a small gap that needs to be filled. Another suggestion was that Lund provide a metal loop on the tonneau so one could attach a cable and padlock so someone couldn’t steal the cover. One more thing worth mentioning if you have a bedliner that goes over the rails on your truck, be prepared to have to make some minor cuts in the bedliner to allow for the use of the clamps.

I could go on and on about how happy people are with the Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover, but I’ll sum it up by saying this… Do I think the Lund Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover is worth it? In my opinion, from everything I have read about this truck bed cover, I have come to the conclusion that this truck bed cover is worth more than what you are going to pay for it. The good points far outweigh the bad points.
