This techie wants more than just his two front teeth for Christmas

I thought it would be fun to put together a list of the top 10 tech gadgets I’d like for Christmas. As you view this list, keep a couple of things in mind. For starters, I already have a ton of cool tech gadgets like a TiVo and a Flip camcorder, so this list isn’t necessarily what I think the top 10 tech gifts for this holiday season are. Rather, it’s a list of devices I’d like to have that I don’t have yet.

Also, I’m not really this material of a person or at least I try not to be. Love and happiness for my family would top my true Christmas list. But I thought some of my readers would be amused to see what a techie like me would put on their Christmas list of tech gadgets. So without further ado, here is my list.

Top 10 Tech Gadgets on Mr. Noobie’s Christmas List:

10. Blu-ray DVD Player: I’m not 100% convinced about Blu-ray or convinced it’s going to survive, but I do think it would be fun to watch some of my favorite action movies in full 1080p resolution.

9. Slingbox Pro-HD: I’ve helped other people set up a Slingbox, but I’d love to have one of my own so I can watch my TiVo recordings on the go.

8. Kindle: The Kindle would be closer to the top of the list if it just looked cooler. I still say that Amazon should have let Apple design the Kindle. Either way, I’d like to get my hands on one just to try it out.

7. iPhone 3G: I was an early adopter of the original iPhone and bought it the day it was released. Now all my friends have the cool new 3G.

6. MacBook Pro: Apple makes some great looking laptops and this one is no exception. Too bad they cost so much.

5. Apple TV: HD movie rentals downloaded directly to my TV. Awesome.

4. Full 1080p Resolution Flat Screen TV: Again, I was an early adopter and at the time, full 1080p resolution wasn’t available on the screen size I wanted. Is now.

3. Digital Photo Frame – Oddly enough, I don’t have one of these. I just never got around to getting one.

2. Rock Band for Wii: I played this at my sister’s house over Thanksgiving and instantly fell in love with it. And my singing voice could use a little practice.

1. Digital SLR: I’m ready to make the jump to a digital SLR. Once you’ve seen the images these cameras take, you may never want to point and shoot again.

Santa Claus, are you listening?
