6 huge benefits of a career in sales

While I would never want to dissuade anyone from going into sales, I also wanted to make it clear that a career in sales has enormous advantages. Here are six of them.

1. It’s fun. Life was meant to be fun, so you can also have fun earning a high income.

2. The skills are portable. The sales skills you perfect over the years can be adapted to any market. Sure there may be some change with product knowledge, but your sales skills can easily be adapted to the market.

3. On demand. There is always a demand for top performing qualified salespeople. In most circumstances, the person that any business would love to hire is a high-quality salesperson to sell the product or service. The demand for high-quality vendors is nearly impossible to meet.

4. No income caps. In a sales profession there are no maximum income limits. The better the seller, the more commission you can earn. Could you ever imagine your sales manager walking up to you telling you that you are doing a great job but that you will have to slow down? I doubt that.

5. Low capital investment. Selling offers potentially massive returns on a very low equity investment. Unlike a doctor, you don’t need to go to college for seven years. Unlike buying a franchise, you don’t need to put up several hundred thousand dollars up front. You can start your sales career with minimal cost compared to the business owner. Your investment will be time to learn the sales skills, and if you learn them well, your return on investment will be enormous.

6. Selling is a challenge. Every day in your career as a salesperson you will be challenged. No two days are the same. Every day you will face new obstacles to overcome.

Selling can be one of the most rewarding careers you can be involved in. For a small investment, you can enter a career that can earn you several hundred thousand dollars a year. Unlike many other races, you can earn a lot of money very quickly and face many new challenges every day. It is an amazing lifestyle.
